The University of the Fraser Valley is a university system serving the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia immediately east of the Vancouver metropolitan area. Officially, it is the third largest university in the province outside Metro Vancouver.

Penguins invade: Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre

The Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre is home to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL), the minor league affiliate of the Calgary Flames. It opened in 2009 and is located almost immediately west of the University of the Fraser Valley campus.
